Most people in the Avesnois region and even some Landrecians tend to forget how beautiful some places at Landrecies are. Since its founding, the town has been divided into two main districts : the 'Ville haute' ("Upper town") on the right bank of the Sambre river and the 'Ville basse' ("Lower town") on the left bank : these two parts actually represent the former limits of the town, when it was still equipped with ramparts (they were demolished in 1894). The main street goes across both of the districts, and it is called 'Grand Rue' ("Big street") by the locals.

Beyond the historical limits of the town, two suburbs can be found along the main street : the first one in the west ('Faubourg du Quesnoy', also known as 'Faubourg Soyères') and the second one in the east ('Faubourg de France').

Finally, there is a good deal of tiny hamlets around the town, like Happegarbes, La Joncquière, Le Rosembois, Le Sambreton or Les Etoquies. Only some of them are indicated and photographed here.
