In former times, when Landrecian people wanted
to go to the Helpe Mineure river in the north-east, they had to walk through the
fields. A road was finally built and some farms settled there : Le Préseau
hamlet was born. (this name means something like "passage from the fields to the
water").
On the picture you can also see a little
blue-stone chapel : there are 23 of them in Landrecies, and more than 450 in the
whole Avesnois region. Their shapes and the inscriptions on them are very
diverse, and so they are very interesting historical items.
