Railway Station (1855)

A railroad connecting Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam was built in 1855 and it had the advantage of crossing Landrecies. That's why our little town was one of the first in France to get a railway station. This was a great asset for the industrial development of Landrecies at the beginning of the 20th century, because it prompted a lot of factories to settle there. Today there is still quite a lot of traffic on this railroad despite the new TGV lines. However trains rarely stop at Landrecies !
