Before World War II, this farm belonged to a
couple named Henri and Hermance Godart. These two courageous people chose to
join the Resistance movement in the Avesnois region.
Unfortunately they were caught by German forces : Henri was shot in his farm on
January 8th 1944. As regards Hermance, she died in a concentration camp.
A
square of Landrecies has been named after them.
